It's tragic, but true. Each day, 18 people die waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. Our mission at Iowa Donor Network (IDN) is to save and transform the lives of Iowans by facilitating organ procurement and tissue recovery. As Iowa’s sole organ procurement agency, we handle organ and tissue recovery and serve as the state’s primary contact for organ, tissue and eye donations. IDN is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency certified by the United States Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. To fulfill our mission, IDN works with more than 100 hospitals across the state of Iowa. We integrate our work in organ/tissue recovery and organ distribution with a leading role in public education, hospital development and family support services. IDN also works closely with the Iowa Lions Eye Bank to promote eye donation. |
