Quilt of Memories

Iowa Donor Net­work’s Quilt of Mem­o­ries is ded­i­cat­ed to those who have giv­en oth­ers the gift of life. Quilt squares are lov­ing­ly cre­at­ed by family

and friends in remem­brance of their loved one. All squares offer a unique snap-shot view of the donor’s life through the cre­ative use of fab­ric, art and love. Iowa Donor Net­work invites all donor fam­i­ly mem­bers to cre­ate a quilt square in hon­or of their loved on who gave the gift of life and send it to us to be added to our newest quilt.

In addi­tion to offer­ing your fam­i­ly a cre­ative way to hon­or your loved one’s gift of dona­tion, it also serves as a beau­ti­ful dis­play for pub­lic pro­mo­tion of the impor­tance of organ and tis­sue dona­tion. Donor fam­i­lies, groups and oth­er indi­vid­u­als may reserve the quilts to dis­play at per­son­al or com­mu­ni­ty activ­i­ties. Iowa Donor Net­work proud­ly dis­plays the quilts at region­al events and gath­er­ings. Quilt of Mem­o­ries is an ongo­ing project and will nev­er be ​“com­plete” in that we will con­tin­ue to make new quilts as long as fam­i­lies con­tin­ue to sub­mit quilt squares.
