Who We Are
Iowa Donor Network (IDN) is a non-profit organization that operates as the primary contact for organ, tissue and eye donation services for the state of Iowa. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have certified IDN to function as the single organ procurement agency in the state. IDN also serves as the tissue (eyes, skin, bone & tendons) recovery agency for the state.
As an organization, we strive to provide the best possible care to our donor families and service to our referring professionals to facilitate the recovery of organs and tissues, educate the communities we serve and support special events to promote donation throughout Iowa. To fulfill our mission, we collaborate with the Iowa Lions Eye Bank, healthcare professionals and organizations statewide to honor the gift of life.
What We Do
- Inspire Iowans to register as organ and tissue donors
- Educate healthcare professionals about their role in the donation process
- Coordinate organ and tissue recovery for donors in the state of Iowa
- Support and honor donor families at the time of donation and on an ongoing basis
Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
Iowa Donor Network is committed to valuing diversity and being inclusive of all team members, partners, donors, and donor families. Demonstrating our values in the workplace means that we will respect individuals both like and unlike ourselves.
We value individuals’ intersecting identities, including (but not limited to) race, gender, religion, ethnic identity and origin, native language, age, disability status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender nonconformity, socioeconomic background, veteran status, political status, and body shape and size.
We commit to acknowledging our differences and holding ourselves accountable to creating an environment where people feel supported, listened to and able to do their personal best.
