Mission, Vision, & Values

Iowa Donor Net­work (IDN) serves as the cru­cial con­nec­tion between organ and tis­sue donors, health­care pro­fes­sion­als, com­mu­ni­ty part­ners, donor fam­i­lies, and those await­ing trans­plant. IDN is Iowa’s sole organ pro­cure­ment orga­ni­za­tion and is one of only 55 fed­er­al­ly cer­ti­fied non­prof­it orga­ni­za­tions that make up the nation’s organ dona­tion net­work. IDN per­forms the fol­low­ing func­tions while oper­at­ing with com­pas­sion, respect, and integri­ty. 

• Hon­or donors and sup­port their loved ones at the time of dona­tion and for years after 

• Inspire Iowans to reg­is­ter as organ and tissue donors 

• Guide health­care pro­fes­sion­als on their role in dona­tion and sup­port them in pol­i­cy devel­op­ment  

• Facil­i­tate the organ and tis­sue dona­tion process in the state of Iowa 

• Empow­er vol­un­teers who serve as ambas­sadors for dona­tion and trans­plan­ta­tion 

• Edu­cate Iowans about dona­tion by host­ing and sup­port­ing out­reach events
