Who We Are and What We Do
Iowa Donor Network (IDN) serves as the crucial connection between organ and tissue donors, healthcare professionals, community partners, donor families, and those awaiting transplant. IDN is Iowa’s sole organ procurement organization and is one of only 55 federally certified nonprofit organizations that make up the nation’s organ donation network. IDN performs the following functions while operating with compassion, respect, and integrity.
Honor donors and support their loved ones at the time of donation and for years after
Inspire Iowans to register as organ and tissue donors
Guide healthcare professionals on their role in donation and support them in policy development
Facilitate the organ and tissue donation process in the state of Iowa
Empower volunteers who serve as ambassadors for donation and transplantation
Educate Iowans about donation by hosting and supporting outreach events
Diverse & United: Where You're Valued for Being YOU
Iowa Donor Network is committed to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. We honor the uniqueness of every individual, recognizing that diversity and inclusion is our strength. We create a safe space where everyone is valued, respected, and empowered to be their authentic selves. Through intentional equity and compassionate understanding, we embrace the richness of our differences and unite in our shared mission. Together, we foster a culture where all voices are heard, all perspectives are valued, and each person feels a sense of belonging. When we come together as one, we inspire change and transform lives.
