Meet the Team

Coming to work for IDN is the best decision I've ever made. The individuals I get to work with and meet on Team Iowa and through my position are amazing. My connection to donation is my grandfather, Richard Reddick, who was an Iowa State Patrolman. I'm proud to say he delivered the first eye donation to the University Hospitals eye bank, now Iowa Lions Eye Bank. I'm very happy to continue his legacy of helping people in my own way.

My child was diagnosed with a rare disease called Alagille Syndrome and received a liver transplant 3 1/2 years ago. They are alive today because of someone's selfless choice to donate. After their transplant, I began working at Iowa Lions Eye Bank and recently transitioned to the role of Family Services Coordinator. I now communicate with cornea donors and recipients every day and I'm excited to be a part of this celebration and to help increase awareness of the importance of organ, cornea, bone marrow, and tissue donation.

The day after I turned 30, I had my daughter and became very ill. I was placed in the ICU with severe HELP, with my liver and kidneys quickly failing. Although my liver came back, my kidneys did not. I was immediately placed on dialysis. I was incredibly lucky to have a close friend come forth that was a match as a living donor. Almost 6 months to the day of my kidneys failing I received a successful kidney transplant.
