Volunteer Opportunity: Cedar County Health and Wellness Fair

Hello from Cedar County Public Health!
The planning stages have begun for our Annual Health and Wellness Fair that takes place during Tipton’s Ridiculous Days. This year the fair will take place on Friday, August 7th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. out on the Courthouse Lawn. Our theme this year is: “Catch the Wellness Wave - Wellness That Reaches Every Shore”. At this event, local businesses and organizations will work to educate many community members on how to make smart choices for healthy living and how to plan for an emergency when one should occur. Our goal is to improve the overall health, wellness, and preparedness of Cedar County along with making sure that our citizens are aware of the wide variety of resources available to help them on their journey to better health and wellness.
The health and wellness fair is geared toward all ages and will be a fun event for the entire family. There will be drawings and games, all designed to keep community members engaged and educated. It would be wonderful if you or a member of your organization would consider joining us in health promotion! There are several ways to get involved…
- Host a booth: Share information about the services or products that you provide and how those services contribute to wellness in Cedar County.
- Provide a demonstration or performance: Show our county residents how to get their bodies in motion, share your health tips or demonstrate your services in action.
- Donate a raffle item: Free giveaways such as water bottles, clothing, fitness equipment and gift certificates help to generate interest in the fair and engage participants in learning.
Participation from local businesses and organizations are essential to the success of the fair. We look forward to having you take a ride with us at this community event!
