Dear Families, While we can never express enough sorrow for the loss of your loved one or take your grief away, please know that all the members associated with Iowa Donor Network thank you for your generosity and we pledge to honor your loved one and the gifts they gave. Your courage and selfless act of goodwill is what encourages all of us to continue on with our mission. Throughout the following paragraphs, you may click on any underlined word for more information. As a member of this unique group of people, there are many resources to help you. Iowa Donor Network's Family Support services is dedicated to bringing comfort and support to all of our families. Providing compassionate and sensitive care to donor families both at the time of donation and on a continuing basis is an integral part of the donation process. Through this program you will connect with Donor Family Advocates who are available to talk, answer questions or provide resources such as bereavement materials or support group information. You will also receive invitations to annual events where there will be an opportunity to remember and honor your loved in a meaningful way. In addition, you will be encouraged to participate in our commemorative projects, such as "Quilts of Memories" or "Stories From the Heart" We will also assist in coordinating written communication between you, the donor's family, and the transplant recipients. Iowa Donor Network's families also have an opportunity to communicate with each other through the Grief Companion Program (R) and LifeNet Health E-Group. We understand that the death of a loved one is always a difficult experience. Our loved ones are irreplaceable, and they will always be remembered and never forgotten.
